Information on National Certification
We are excited to share that in collaboration with the Alaska CHAP Certification Board (AKCB), Community Health Aide Program Providers in our Area are able to receive certification. The Portland Area CHAP Certification Board (PACCB) is working in collaboration with the AKCB to issue federal certifications to our providers in a short term arrangement as we wait for the background federal processes to be complete. The PACCB is dedicated to ensuring that CHAP certification maintains a rigorous adherence to our standards and procedures (S&Ps) through this process. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in CHAP implementation.
We are also excited to announce a significant milestone the building of federal infrastructure to support CHAP. The PACCB has been eagerly awaiting the final approval of the System of Records Notice (SORN). The SORN is in the final stage of public comment. This is a critical step forward for CHAP nationally and supports our mission to certify CHAP providers..
The AKCB is a collaboration between the Alaska Area Native Health Service (AANHS) and the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC). Their certification board holds federal authorization from the Alaska Area Native Health Service and operates under the administration of the ANTHC. Established in 1998 by the federal government, the AKCB, ANTHC, and AANHS have been invaluable partners in the establishment of CHAP in the Portland Area.
As we await the final SORN approval, the PACCB remains dedicated to advancing the certification process for our Portland Area CHAP professionals in our area. We appreciate your patience and support as we work diligently to ensure the highest standards of healthcare providers in our communities.
Stay tuned for further updates and developments on this vital certification process.
